An extraordinary trip to Naples

What better way to learn about ancient history than to visit in person? Girls from Upper 3 (Year 7) to Upper Sixth (Year 13) with an appreciation for Classics had a wonderful five-day trip to the breathtaking Bay of Naples over half term!

Throughout the week, they were immersed in the most iconic areas of history and culture Naples has to offer: near Pompeii, girls saw one of the finest residences uncovered in the area – the Villa of Oplontis – as well as the Amphitheatre, the Forum, the house of Caecilius and the Palaestra; they trekked to the summit of Mount Vesuvius and got an amazing insight into the awesome power the volcano unleashed; they explored Herculaneum, a site even better preserved than Pompeii; and even visited the Island of Capri, a trip highlight!
