It was all go in our Food & Nutrition rooms earlier this week, and what a treat for the senses! The morning began with the rich, buttery aroma of freshly baked cheese straws, as our Year 6s embarked upon their very first practical – which they completed to absolute perfection.
Then, just as we thought the smells wafting around couldn’t get any better, a burst of zesty lemon filled the air with our Uppers 3s (Year 7s) busily perfecting their lemon crunch flans.
Aside from the tantalising smells that we here at The Maynard have to live with on a daily basis, we’re proud to be teaching essential life-skills to our students – from teamwork and time management to creativity and confidence in the kitchen!
