GCSEs – Key Statistics
- In 2023, we saw our best set of results ever with a record 34% of 9 grades, versus 5% nationally – 10% higher than The Maynard equivalent in 2019, and higher even than the inflated 2020-22 grades when Centre Assessed and Teacher Assessed Grades replaced real exams.
- Three quarters of all results in 2023 were grade 7 or above, compared to the national average of 22.4%.
- Well over half of 2023 exams sat were graded 8 or 9.
- According to an average of grades from 2021 to 2023, over a third of results for the significant majority of subjects were grade 9.
- Both STEM and Arts subjects have seen excellent results and a subsequent healthy 50:50 split taken A-Level, bucking yet another national trend which traditionally sees only 35% of girls continue to study STEM subjects after GCSE (according to the Girls’ Schools Association).
