International Students
International students that have moved to the UK with parents/guardians, for whom English is not their first language, will be given 1 hour of EAL (English as an Additional Language) teaching a week. Extra lessons will be provided at an additional cost if recommended.
Year 6 fees
Year 6 provision is unique in offering the pupils a transitional experience that provides the specialist teaching of Senior School staff whilst still under the careful guidance of a class teacher. For this reason, the fees for Year 6 pupils are the same for those already in the Senior School.
The Year 6 classrooms are based in the nurturing environment of the Junior School but pupils will have full use of the Senior School facilities such as the science laboratories, Food & Nutrition and Textile Departments, art rooms, music rooms and the library. Equally, the students are encouraged to partake in a number of activities (for example, the Middle School Choir) that will allow them to get to know many of the Senior School staff and pupils before they officially move into Year 7 (Upper 3).
Fees and extras fall due on or before the first day of each term. Any queries regarding fees should be submitted to the Bursar’s Office. A refundable deposit for breakages, lost library books etc (£200) is also payable with the first term’s fees.
Registration Fee
A non-refundable fee of £150 (£200 for non-UK residents) is payable on completion of the Registration Form.
Acceptance Fee
On formal acceptance of a place, a non-refundable Acceptance Fee of £400 is charged.
Sibling Discount Scheme
We offer a Sibling Discount Scheme for both the Junior and Senior School at The Maynard. Any subsequent daughter will have a 10% reduction in fees per annum.
Fees for Extra Subjects
The majority of extra-curricular activities are offered at no extra charge, with the exception of private music lessons, speech and drama and tennis lessons. Invoices are submitted by the individual teacher concerned and payment should be made direct to them.
Meals
Lunches are compulsory for all girls from Reception to Upper 3 (Year 7) and are charged in advance on a termly basis at £5.10 per day. Older girls can opt to have school lunches on a termly basis, or they may bring in a packed lunch each day. A half term’s notice is needed if a girl is starting or stopping school lunches. There will be no refunds except in the case of prolonged absence and at the discretion of the School Finance Manager — applications can be made to the School Finance Manager’s Office (01392 355990).
