If you would like to consider a place at the Maynard Pre-Prep for your daughter, the first thing to do is to come and visit us.
If you think your daughter would enjoy our caring learning environment, the next stage would be to book in for a Taster Session where she can experience the Maynard’s happy way of life!
During a Taster Session we will carry out an informal observation to make sure your daughter would be suited to the School.
We will consider:
- Interaction with adults (and peers where possible)
- Any specific behavioural or individual needs
- Reading
- Drawing
- Practical handling activities
Following your daughter’s Taster Session at the School, if we feel that the Pre-Prep would be the right setting for her, we would then be able to formally offer a place. Parents are then required to return the Acceptance Form to complete the entry procedure.
You may, of course, enter your child for future years but we would not normally complete the paperwork until the year preceding admission.
Depending on place availability, children may enter at any time throughout the academic year.

We expect all of our Pre-Prep pupils to move smoothly through the Junior School providing that progress and behaviour are in line with expectations. Please be aware that a Junior School place does not later guarantee a place in the Senior School, although the vast majority of our pupils do move up to the Senior School. All of the girls are required to take our 11+ entrance exam.
