Our job is to inspire all our girls with a love of learning and to nurture independence of mind. If we do this successfully, our girls will step out with confidence as global citizens of the future.
No-one ever regrets a wonderful education for those all-important A-level years and we always welcome talented and capable young ladies into our Sixth Form (at the beginning of Year 12) to finish off their school years to their maximum potential.
For some parents, providing your daughter with the greatest possible education can come at a huge financial sacrifice for which reason we offer a range of fees assisted places and bursaries for talented girls entering the Sixth Form. To find more about these, please click here.
Sixth Form here at The Maynard School provides a distinctly unique and happy experience, where all of our students are supported individually and statistically proven to outperform their peers in the co-educational sector.
Sixth Form Open Evenings
We hold our annual Sixth Form Open Evening in the Autumn Term. During this visit you will be taken on a tour of the school and will visit our Sixth Form Centre, meet current Sixth Formers, subject teachers and tutors to discover more about life in our Sixth Form and the A-levels on offer. You will also be able to find out about our extra-curricular opportunities, school buses, facilities and other opportunities.
Please contact our Admissions Team on 01392 355998 or [email protected] for further information and to make an appointment.
Admissions Process
Our Sixth Form admission process involves, in the first instance, completion of our Registration Form which can found here.
We will then invite your daughter for an interview with the Head, the Director of the Sixth Form and any other relevant Heads of Departments. We will also write to your daughter’s current school to request a reference, latest report and predicted GCSE grades.
Offers
If we are then able to offer a place, please note that this is conditional upon your daughter reaching the minimum entry requirements for entry into our Sixth Form, namely:
- at least six grade 7’s
- a minimum of a grade 7 in both Maths and English GCSE
- a grade 7 or 8 in the subjects to be taken at A-level
Students will always be considered on their individual merits.
We then ask parents to sign the accompanying Acceptance Form, having read the Terms & Conditions booklet, and pay an acceptance fee which secures a place for your daughter.
