What a lovely start to the musical year with yesterday’s enchanting Teatime Concert! A small but mighty bunch of our talented young musicians charmed the audience with their most recent favourite pieces, with Bluebell (Upper 5, Year 11) and Winter (Upper 3, Year 7) singing; Josephine, Lucy and Catherine (Lower 4, Year 8) playing the piano; Rosamond (Upper 3) playing the flute; Celine (Upper 3) playing the harp; and Katie (Upper 4, Year 9) playing the violin.
The evening showcased an incredible range of pieces including ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, Lewis Capaldi, Wicked (The Wizard of Oz) and Beethoven’s Spring Sonata! Every single student was a joy to listen to, from Bluebell’s world premiere of a song she composed herself to Katie’s playing to the standard of a degree final despite only being in Upper 4. The group’s phenomenal performances were a true delight on a chilly January evening – congratulations to all who took part!
