The Maynard Young Enterprise team, Blue Velvet, was awarded Best Trade Stand at the Winter Trade Fair in Princesshay on Saturday 10 December. Much of the 16-strong team contributed to the day and showed great commitment to creating a professional looking retail stand on one of the busiest shopping days before Christmas.
They all gained confidence in their sales technique throughout the day and enjoyed it all so much that they were reluctant to pack up at the end of the day! Sales of velvet scrunchies as well as hand-made chokers and bracelets went very well and they have now moved well into profit as a business. The team was given some useful feedback from the Young Enterprise judges which they will work from to give an even better offer at the next trade show in the new year.
