Our scientist whizz Sixth Formers dived right into the latest annual British Biology Olympiad earlier this month. It consisted of two rounds of tricky questions involving logical thinking, problem solving and an all-important deep understanding of core biological principles – which, judging by the results, our girls clearly have in spades!
Matilda and Megan S stormed straight through to a gold award – reserved for the top 5% nationally of over 13,000 entries – and now have the exciting opportunity to compete in the next round for a place on the national team, potentially progressing to the International Biology Olympiad in Kazakhstan this summer!
Other marvellous results include Fiona and Helena’s silver awards, Maddy’s bronze award, and Megan L’s ranking as highly commended.
After obtaining such great accolades, they certainly can’t ‘cell’ themselves short!
