Our athletes are going for GOLD! 10 of our sports stars in the making had a fantastic time at ‘Girls Go Gold’ last week – an annual GSA event dedicated to uplifting the next generation of women in sport, held this year at Sherborne Girls School.
They started the day bright and early with a jazzy wake and shake (as well as making their own smoothies on a bike!) before kicking off the event at a brilliantly inspirational talk by Clare Balding CBE, ‘Dare to be Different’. Suitably energised, girls then headed to electrifying sporting masterclasses led by incredible current and ex professional athletes including Eboni Osoro-Brown, Grace Balsdon and Laura Sugar MBE.
The second part of the day was equally as fulfilling and involved students selecting two talks that resonated most with them, including ‘Life in the Olympic Village’, ‘The Unstoppable Rise of Women’s Sport’ (a firm favourite led by Sue Anstiss MBE!) and more. For a fabulous end, our girls attended an interview panel ‘Life Beyond the Final Whistle’ for even more thought-provoking discussion. What an incredible day with so much to take away!
