We are so lucky to have an association with the wonderful University of Exeter Law Society, who come into school throughout the year to share their experiences and deliver interesting tutorials and careers advice to a range of our aspiring lawyers. Enthusiastic Lower 5 (Year 10) have just enjoyed listening to three Law workshops exploring the differences between murder and man-slaughter, what constitutes self-defence, and slander versus libel: the university students showed videos, ran quizzes and used case study scenarios (most true!) to prompt a range of insightful in-depth conversations. Not only this, but the Exeter Law Society will also be visiting again on Wednesday 12th March to run a mock trial for Maynardians and other local schools, providing the perfect opportunity to get invaluable hands-on experience preparing and debating a case.
Thank you so much to the society for all their time and effort giving future Maynard lawyers an amazing boost on their career journey!
