Recently, teams of magnificently maths-minded students in Lower 5 (Year 10) have been on the go travelling to the Met Office and then to Bridport to compete in the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme’s (AMSP) Year 10 Maths Feast, testing their skills with ‘an all-you-can-eat feast of problems’. Yum!
The groups competed in several exciting rounds requiring different skills and strategies beyond the usual classroom material. All teams did a fabulous job in the face of new and tricky puzzles, with two teams finishing in the top half of an exceptionally competitive field.
Mrs Dersley is incredibly proud: “throughout the competition, the girls smiled, supported each other, and worked tirelessly to understand the material – truly a great display of teamwork and perseverance and an amazing demonstration of Maynard spirit.” A huge well done to everyone involved!
