Lower Sixth take biology beyond the classroom on Slapton Ley trip

As part of their Biology A-level, Lower Sixth (Year 12) girls enjoyed an enriching trip to the Slapton Ley Field Studies Centre last Friday, working together to carry out a real ecological study in a whole new environment.

With the Centre set in the Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve and sitting a stone’s throw from the 4km long Slapton Sands beach, biologists thoroughly enjoyed applying their learning to the beautiful and immersive South Devon countryside. It was the perfect way to learn just how ecological studies are carried out, how data is used in conservation, and how findings can bolster understanding of different habitats!
