The Pre-Prep teachers were in an excellent position to organise remote learning for our girls. The classes are very used to using the cross-curricular website, Purple Mash, which has allowed the teachers to upload unique video lessons for their class to use each day. The classes were then able to continue following their curriculum plans.
Purple Mash also has a wealth of education tools allowing the girls to enhance their knowledge in a fun and creative way. The teachers were able to set individual, differentiated tasks including spellings and numeracy challenges. The website also had the facility to share photos and videos including weekly assemblies from Mr Smerdon. We continued to use the app Tapestry to allow the girls to upload their completed work so we were able to mark the work as well as award ‘virtual’ tokens. A final part of the remote learning was the use of Zoom. This was especially useful when some of the girls returned to school and we were able to meet several times a week to share news.
