Today we joined the rest of the nation in remembering the men and women who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms, forever grateful for their bravery.
Across the school, our girls have been making beautiful poppies to mark the day, and we began Remembrance Day with a thought-provoking whole school assembly led by our Head, Mrs Gregory, outside on the double courts this morning. Following the traditional commemoration exhortation, the staff choir performed a deeply moving rendition of ‘I Vow to Thee’ before we all paused for reflection to observe a two-minute silence. The service culminated with our ever-wonderful Head Girl Team placing a poppy wreath with our Remembrance Soldier in the Rose Garden.
At 11am school was paused again to remember all those who lost their lives as the grounds reverberated with ‘The Last Post’, played by two of our talented Senior musicians atop Tregear.
Thank you to everyone for their part in Remembrance Day activities as the whole school community comes together to honour the fallen. Lest we forget.
