It’s not rocket science… or is it? Lower 6 (Year 12) girls had some fabulous success at the latest Senior Physics Challenge, part of the British Physics Olympiad!
Every student who entered got an award, and 40% of Maynard entries were Gold compared to 18% overall. Highlights include Joey and Vratny’s Gold Awards – in which Joey was in the top 100 of 6000 total students – plus Maya and Victoria’s Silver Awards and Nadipa’s Bronze Award.
Only 27.4% of total entries were from girls, so there is clearly still a gender gap in students studying Physics. We’re so proud of our girls for not being daunted by this, and can’t wait to see where their drive and determination will take them!
