Our iconic Senior School Sports Day was a riot of colour, cheer and Maynard community spirit as always! Today’s jam-packed sport spectacular saw Senior girls having loads of fun representing their Houses – Armourers, Goldsmiths, Haberdashers and Merchants – in classic field and track events at Exeter Arena, all topped-off with hilarious commentary from Dr Henderson.
Not to be stopped by the blustery weather (nothing could top last year’s downpour!), every girl did a fab job taking part in some friendly competition in everything from high jump, shot putt and javelin to individual and relay races. Then, to finish with a bang, the last race of the day had teachers joining students at the starting line for the highly anticipated staff versus Sixth Form relay!
Congratulations to everyone and a special shout out to Armourers as this year’s victors – they’ve claimed the House Sports Day Shield and will now hold it proudly until next time!
